  2. The father killing his son is, I think, one of the best scenarios I've ever come across; it's fucking exciting.

    1. It's one of my favorites, two different but similar masculine perspectives!!

  4. The poor son didn't stand a chance. He may have been younger, but his belly was bigger and he had less experience. He would have been better off staying at home and stuffing his gut.

    1. True, his belly might be full of pie instead of steel and one day might've even had sons of his own had he not been so determined to fight for the king!

Dude this is so damn hot. Every part had me harder than the last. I particularly like the sons expression in the third panel. As if it hadn't even crossed his mind that the king might spare him. Watching the king decide feels like an eternity for him as his kind races to make an argument why he should be impaled through the guts. Then seconds later gets his wish.

    1. I'm glad those seconds of suspense came through in the comic, I wanted to show how much he felt like an expendable slab of meat with the sword hovering over him, and also show his own feelings of appreciation for being in such a predicament!

  6. That low kill angle is beautiful! Shows what an absolute globe of a gut the son had! Love the detail in the last frame of the height of the blood on the blade. Smart of the dad to bring and extra long one after seeing just how far his son had gotten

    1. Thank you very much, I feel like that frame was necessary to sell the impact of the kill! It wasn't flowing right with the same far-away action shot throughout the whole execution scene and I'm very glad I added it now!

  7. Thank you so much for commenting! It's too bad video recorders weren't invented yet, every time the King wants to hear another big guy groaning in ultimate defeat he has to have another fresh one brought to his arena! I can't blame the son for losing control, being defeated and on display then executed in such a ceremoniously masculine way would be overwhelming for such a guy! Thank you for the commentary on the second page too, I want to get more creative with my lighting like that in the future!

  8. What happened next? Did the father mourn his son's death? Perhaps he later remembered the beautiful moments he had with him when he was a child, warmly embracing his father's belly, hoping that when he grew up he would have one just like it, and that out of grief, he got so drunk that some men finally killed him with something stuck in his navel, and in his last moments he only thinks that he can finally be at peace, receiving the same fate as his son. That would be exciting!

The king has a rather large and vulnerable belly himself. I suspect one day a handsome, muscular usurper will slit his fat gut open while he sits on the throne and seize the kingdom for himself!

  13. Excellent work butcher. There was this sheriff in the old west who would go through a lot of deputies. He was always hiring new ones. The interview process was simple. He just wanted to know if they were fast. So when the young cowboys applied all they had to do was win a gunfight. Every two boys that applied just faced each other and the winner got the job. He went through so many young men. They never lasted for long but the nights in the bunkhouse made it all worth while.

Hey, I’d really love to support you, even if it’s just with a few bucks. I’m pretty sure a lot of people here feel the same way. Not to make you feel obligated to create more, but simply as a thanks for all the amazing art you’ve already shared. Honestly, it feels like a shame that work this good goes unsupported
